The band
Founded in 2021 in Saguenay, Québec, by Jean-Raphaël Couillard, Faelris is an epic doom metal band blending symphonic, progressive and neoclassical metal. Influenced by Wintersun, While Heaven Wept, Anathema, Katatonia and Ensiferum, its long, evolving compositions combine heavy guitars, majestic orchestration and emotionally charged melodies. Originally a solo project, Faelris became a duo in 2025 with the arrival of Matéo Gautié on lead guitar and harsh vocals. Together, the two musicians develop a musical world where the power of metal meets the beauty of melody, emotional depth and the art of storytelling.

Doomsoul officially launches on June 15, 2026. This free Windows arcade survival game challenges players to dodge ghosts and comets, combine orb powers and push their high scores further. Developed by the founder of Faelris, it gives interactive form to his creative and musical world.
On May 2, 2026, Doomsoul is presented at Gameover in Saguenay. This milestone precedes the game’s official June 15 release and connects the Faelris Gaming project with its region’s gaming scene. Explore the game’s world, its arcade survival mechanics and its musical connection to Faelris.
